New
Weib Series (10/9/01)
"According to the official "Weiss
Kreuz" site at Marine Entertainment (http://www.marine-e.co.jp/weib/weib001.htm)
a new TV series will be produced in the near future, to be entitled
"WEISS - Saishuushou" (Final Chapter). Originally aired between
April and September 1998 on TV-Tokyo, the first "Weiss Kreuz" series
revolved around a group of 4 handsome boys running a flower shop
by day but turning into dreaded merceneries by night. Inspired by
a famous seiyuu group the "Weiss Kreuz" franchise has not only spawned
a TV and OVA series but also novels, mangas and a vast amount of
CD dramas. Media Blaster has announced their acquisition of the
Ž98 WK series, slated for a US release under the moniker "Night
Hunters" this October."

Bebop Movie / Metropolis Items (5/9/01)
"Call me an
"unnamed source in LA," but I've just talked to someone from Columbia
Pictures who said that not only would Metropolis be released to
theatres on Nov 9, but that it should hit DVD here in Feb. Also,
and this is tentative, he said they either have or are negotiating
the rights for the Cowboy Bebop movie for video AND theatrical release
in 2002!"

Patlabor
3 (5/9/01)
"Though it was
announced years ago things finally seem to go ahead for "MOBILE
POLICE PATLABOR 3". Scheduled for spring 2002, the movie will be
based on one of the manga story arcs, "Haikibutsu 13-go jiken" ("The
waste no.13 incident"). Thus, not killer robots will trouble our
heros this time but genetically engineered monsters breaking out
of their transport cages. A preview version is said to have been
shown at the Imagica studio, but the movie itself still has to find
a distributor to make it to the big screen. Originally filled by
Mamoru Oshii the director job has been handed over to Fumihiko Takayama,
best known for his works on mecha-oriented animes like "Orguss",
"Gundam 0800: A War in the Pocket", "Macross Plus" and the "Bubblegum
Crisis" OVA. The script will be delivered by Miki Tori. "
